SUMMER INTERNSHIP/OBSERVERSHIP |
GOALS
The MGH Reproductive Endocrine Unit offers students a mentored research experience in clinical investigation within a group of world-class clinical researchers in human reproduction. The program’s ultimate goal is to provide students with the opportunity to experience clinical research in a hospital setting.
This research experience is typically 6 months or less in duration but on occasion may last a year. It may occur in the middle of college, between college and medical school.
The Reproductive Endocrine Unit invites motivated students seeking to explore research and medicine to join us during the summer to participate and experience a research unit. They will attend several of the weekly didactic meetings and be mentored by junior faculty and Fellows in areas of reproductive medicine.
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
It is anticipated that students entering this program will have a variable background; however, all will be required to have a certain number of basic science courses. The experience within the Reproductive Endocrine Unit will be tailored to the candidates’ goals, education and scientific background.
This opportunity allows the student to experience clinical research under the mentorship of an established Physician Scientist, as well as the opportunity to participate in a world-class translational educational lecture series. We do not offer students a stipend for their time, but will consider supervising a project for school credit for an established educational program.
