--The ROI tool would be web based. Users would provide inputs as prompted on a computer screen and the tool would calculate the ROI. Users could do "what if" analyses by providing inputs associated with multiple scenarios.
--Example inputs would include labor and equipment costs, expected impacts on health service utilization, quality metrics, etc., and patient population characteristics.
--The ROI tool will be best suited to evaluate the costs and benefits of remote tele- monitoring of chronic diseases such as heart failure and diabetes.
--The ROI tool would accomodate multiple types of tele-monitoring programs, e.g., the calculator would evaluate ROI of remote tele-monitoring equipment and support services that may be built, purchased, or leased.
