Thank you for your interest in the MGH RHL Fellowship.

Applications are currently being accepted for the two-year fellowship beginning July 1, 2027. The Fellowship Training Committee will review all applications. The fellowship director may conduct a telephone interview before extending an invitation for an interview. Virtual interviews will be scheduled for November 2026.

How to Apply

Application deadline: October 31, 2026

The application requires:

  • A completed survey application (this form)
  • A CV (uploaded within this form)
  • Three letters of recommendation, electronic or scanned, two of which are from current or past clinical supervisors (emailed by letter writers to ruralmedicine@mgh.harvard.edu).

As incomplete surveys cannot be saved or edited after submission, we recommend copy/pasting your responses into the survey when you are ready to submit.

It is the ethos of the Rural Health Leadership program that we will tailor the fellowship experience to each fellow's interests and career needs. We believe in partnership with our fellows as much as with the communities in which we work and aspire to create an atmosphere of co-ownership and co-leadership.  Given the fellowship's focus, the program encourages applications from individuals from underrepresented minority groups and/or who hail from rural areas. Massachusetts General Hospital is an equal opportunity employer.

We welcome questions about the program and application process at any time. Please direct questions to Fellowship Director Stephanie Sun at swsun@mgh.harvard.edu or Fellowship Coordinator Laura Ricci at lricci@mgh.harvard.edu.
