The Global Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) Initiative is an international collaboration focused on the intersection of global health and otolaryngology; a primary goal of the initiative is to conduct research to inform advocacy and policy. This research study will ask questions about the OHNS burden of disease, barriers to care, infrastructure, and training and education in your country and region. The results of this survey will be used to direct future research and propose national, regional, and global policy and programmatic interventions to strengthen OHNS care. We are asking you to take part in this survey because you are an expert in the field of otolaryngology. You will complete one survey that will require approximately 5-10 minutes . Between 200-500 additional OHNS surgeons from across the world will take part in this study. The demographic information below is included to ensure adequate representation across all countries and regions. This information will only be seen by IRB approved research team members. Your de-identified information may be shared with other researchers without your additional informed consent. You must have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone to participate in the online survey. You are free to decide not to answer any question or not take part in the study. If you decide to take part, you can withdraw that decision at any point. Furthermore, deciding not to participate will not affect professional standing or elevations in the Global OHNS Initiative. If you have questions or concerns about this research study, you can contact the Principal Investigator at the following: Blake Alkire: balkire@partners.org or research assistant Sarah Nuss at sarah_nuss@hms.harvard.edu . If you'd like to speak to someone not involved in this research about your rights as a research subject, or any concerns or complaints you may have about the research, contact the Partners Human Research Committee at (857) 282-1900.
I agree to be part of this research and agree to allow my information to be used and shared as described above.
