A Survey of Relationship Conflict and Violence in Women during COVID-19
Why is this research study being done?
The purpose of this study is to help us understand:
- How women’s relationships have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic
- The kinds of stressors and conflicts that are being experienced by women who are currently in relationships
- Trends associated with individual characteristics and relationship stressors and conflict
How many people will participate?
Approximately 200 people will complete this survey
How long will this survey take to complete?
This survey will take 20-30 minutes to complete.
Will I be compensated for participation in this study?
If you complete the survey, you will be offered an opportunity to enter for a chance to receive one of 50 $20 Amazon gift cards. This portion of the study is optional, and you do not have to enter if you prefer not to. At the conclusion of the study, you will be able to enter your email address for the sole purpose of receiving the gift card. Your email address will be collected and stored separately from your survey responses, so it cannot be connected to your email address. We will not use this information for any other purpose.
How will my confidentiality and privacy be protected?
All data will be collected on REDCap and stored on Mass General Brigham (MGB) Healthcare secure servers. REDCap meets all MGB standards for privacy and data protection; per policy, all data is stored confidentially. The only people who have access to this data are the study staff.
What are the risks and benefits of participating in this study?
Risk associated with participation in the study is low and here is no direct benefit for participating. No identifying information will be collected. We will be asking questions that may create some distress and/or a negative emotional reaction. A list of resources is available if you would like further information or support after participating in this study.
Can I share this survey with people I know?
We encourage you to share this survey, through a link we will provide at the end, with other women you know who might be interested. In particular, we encourage you to send this survey to both South Asian and non-South Asian women so that we can collect a wider range of responses for comparisons. Sharing this survey is completely optional. You do not have to send this survey to anyone if you do not wish to. Your decision to share/not share the survey has no effect on your responses or your participation.
